NINE SCHOOL DISTRICTS ATTEND ANNUAL BEd HIRING FAIR

(January 20, 2012) -- Students in St. Mary's University College's Bachelor of Education program mingled with school district representatives who said they were eager to hire them after graduation.

At a hiring fair on campus, several of the representatives said the size and quality of St. Mary's BEd program -- classes are capped at 40 students -- results in strong graduates who are ready to tackle the challenges of today's classroom. One district even conducted preliminary interviews during the hiring fair.

Representatives attending this year's fair came from Calgary Catholic School District, Palliser Regional Schools and Holy Spirit Catholic Schools in Lethbridge, Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools, Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools, Yukon Public School District, Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools, Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education, and the Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta.
