Students preparing for artivism project(1)After a whirlwind term, students of the Humanities 101 program celebrated their accomplishments on Saturday, May 7th at their graduation event, the Celebration of Learning. Twenty-one students received Certificates of Completion, celebrating their attendance and engagement with class material and assignments.

Despite the shortened winter term, Humanities 101 students had a varied and exciting term. They attended the play Cockroach, by Jonathan Garfinkle, at Alberta Theater Projects, read Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman and Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl, and learned about classical music from Professor Malcom Edwards. The main instructors for the term, Professors Heidi Grogan and Bertrand Bickersteth, kept the course smoothly running while they shared their expertise in poetic and short story elements, the power of language and rhetoric and Black Albertan poetry.
