With COVID-19 cases and variant transmissions on the rise, St. Mary’s University will be temporarily moving our classes online to keep our community safe and healthy while ensuring that we provide the top educational experience our students have come to expect.
Effective January 10th, all students will resume online learning environments and courses will be delivered virtually through D2L. Students are encouraged to keep accessing their StMU email for on-going instructions. If you do not have regular access to a computer or mobile device, you are encouraged to contact the Library as soon as possible. Requests for Laptop Term Rentals must be placed through the library catalog. This will allow users to select the day and time they would like to pick up the computer. In all instances, borrowers will be required to read and sign the borrower agreement at time of pickup.
For reference, we currently have day use laptops (bookable through the library catalog), and Term rentals ($200 fee as set by IT), bookable through the library catalog. Additional laptops/resources may be available through the IT department.
These enforced restrictions will be in place at St. Mary’s until Friday, January 28th at which point the situation will be re-evaluated. While collectively we all had hoped to avoid further restrictions, we must do our part to ensure the St. Mary’s University community remains safe and healthy, and that our students are able to complete their academic year of studies.
Winter 2022 Courses
As of January 10th, all Winter 2022 lectures and tutorials will be delivered online for three weeks. Some BCEM, BIOL, CHEM, and EDCM labs will be taught in person; the lab instructors for these courses will inform their students of the lab schedule via email.
