Dr. Vanderpool accepts her award, presented by Alberta Minister of Advanced Education, Demetrios Nicolaides.

We’re excited to share that Dr. Sinda Vanderpool, president and vice-chancellor of St. Mary’s University, recently received The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) in recognition of service to her province in the field of adult education.

This is an incredible honour given to residents of Alberta who have made a significant contribution to Canada, Alberta, their communities, or fellow citizens. In total, 7,000 Albertans will receive this medal, which commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second to the Throne as Queen of Canada. This medal is intended to honour citizens who, like the late Queen, have dedicated themselves to family, community, and country.

Congratulations Sinda, thank you for all you do to help continue to expand upon St. Mary’s student-centred vision of growth and success.
