(2 Spring Saturday Mornings)

This course has been cancelled.

Dates: May 27, June 3 & June 10th (in case of a rain delay on a previous date)
Times: 9:00 a.m. – noon
Gathering Place: Meet in Glennfield Parking Lot, Bannister Rd. SE, Calgary
Fee: $90/person/series + GST

Join Dr. Scott Lovell for a nature walk through part of Fish Creek Provincial Park, the second largest urban park in Canada, that is right in our backyard!
Over the course of the outing, Dr. Lovell will:

  • introduce participants to common animals & plants encountered during the walk
  • discuss the history of the park
  • address how the park is changing as Calgary continues to grow

These guided nature walks are a great chance to reconnect with the natural world around us, and to ignore your email and texts for several hours.
NOTE:

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes
  • Bring binoculars with you, if interested
  • Pack water & any needed snacks

Scott Lovell is an associate professor of Biology at St. Mary’s University (StMU), where he teaches a variety of course dealing with zoology, ecology, and evolution. He has been a birdwatcher and naturalist for 28 years.
