This course can be used to fulfill requirements towards the Foundations’ Level Sacred Arts Certificate at St. Mary’s University.

If you have been inspired by Sacred Arts in many of Calgary’s churches, this introductory course will foster the discovery of some details to patterns, cutting, leading and sealing.Materials and hand tools will be available for purchase. A safe workshop space will be provided on campus.

Participants will:

  • learn about the medium of glass and safe handling
  • engage in hands-on basics of traditional stained glass methods
  • design and craft a stained glass panel expressing their spirituality

Janice Wilson is a local stained glass artist who has produced outstanding commissioned work from her studio. She thoroughly enjoys teaching others about the history and significance of stained glass art, along with the hands-on skill-building of creating stained glass art pieces.

*Please bring your own snacks and beverages to each class.

Cancellation Policy at StMU:
Partial refunds are provided for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the first class: a $50 administration fee is retained by StMU for costs incurred. No refunds are provided with less than 7 days cancellation.
