Indigenous Voices

Stories of THIS Land: Come to the Fire

(1 full-day session)

Date: Wed., Aug. 15, 2018
Times: 9:00 – 3:00 pm
Location: around the firepit at St. Mary’s University, 14500 Bannister Rd SE, Calgary
Fee: $75/person
Facilitators: Elder Casey Eagle Speaker, Michelle Scott, Tamara Lee-Anne Cardinal

Note: Please dress for variable weather outdoors and bring a lawn chair. Some time will also be spent indoors on campus.

Come and join us around the fire on this summer’s day as we share in some ceremony and uncover some very local Indigenous stories that few have heard in current times.

StMU’s contemporary location will be the focus of our attention as we also visit the Mauro Gallery, Aisinnak’iiks Exhibit with curator, Tamara Lee-Anne Cardinal, engage in a walking tour of the campus and unravel the video, The Ghost of St. Mary’s.

In keeping with local traditions, our lunch will be a potluck one in which we share together as a community that day.
