Join us in a rare opportunity to hear Philip Davydov, prominent iconographer from St. Petersburg, Russia, explore the mysteries of iconography and their role in faith and devotion.

Dynamic visual images of Christian Sacred Art of the Middle Ages will illuminate such questions as:

  • To what extent can history and spiritual practices inform and enhance our Christian faith?
  • Why has the art of iconography been viewed as provocative over time?
  • What were some of the driving forces behind this art?
  • How can iconography speak to current Christian faith and thought?

Philip Davydov is a remarkable icon, panel and mural painter from St. Petersburg, Russia, who has developed his own style of iconography while upholding deep traditions in the form.
