A few last pieces for you before term begins on Tuesday. We are all looking forward to the first week of classes and seeing you – whether online or in-person. Campus has been buzzing this week with 7 on-campus sessions New Student Orientation and 1 remote session.

I will keep this message brief, as I hope you will be taking time to relax over the long weekend. Keep safe though – keep your masks on in public and maintain social distance for your sake and the safety of your loved ones.

On-Campus Study Spaces for Students with Timing Conflicts Between In-Person and Remote Classes

We have designated enough study spaces for students who have adjacent on-campus and remote classes in which you can complete your remote classes. Maps indicating the location of the study spaces are attached here: Campus Map, Classroom Building, McGivney Hall, Le Fort Centre, Owerko Hall, Parking Registration Form. They will also be posted on entrance doors to buildings.

Please choose a study space close to your in-person class to minimize potential contact points.

Registering for contact tracing: sign-in on the attendance sheet provided in each area.

When you are finished with your study space, ensure to clean the table, chair arms, and plexiglass (if there is a Plexiglas barrier) with the disinfecting supplies that are provided following the posted instructions.

Remember: you can doff your mask when you are seated at the designated study space (after sanitizing your hands). Before getting out of your seat to go to the washroom or to leave the space, sanitise your hands and don your mask.

All students on campus are required to adhere to the StMU COVID protocols. Any failure to adhere to the protocols may result in a request to leave campus and/or sanctions under the St. Mary’s University Student COVID Non-Academic Misconduct Policy.

Have a fabulous long weekend and a successful beginning of term.

Warm regards,
