On February 19th, our Lightning Indoor Track team competed in their second meet of the season in Red Deer and three new school records were made in three different races!

Our women’s 4x200m relay runners Cherise Carter, Brianne Dangerfield, Casey Field and Sydney Lockhart broke the new Lightning record with a time of 2:05.24! Our men’s 4x200m relay team runners Justin Cancio, Kevin Robinson, Tanner Nordstrom-Young and Tim Evans beat the previous record holders with a time of 1:47.51!

Women’s 600m runner Cherise Carter beat the previous record holders time by 2.82 seconds! A big shout out to our women’s runner Maria Fox who placed third in the 1500m with a time of 5:36.38!

Congratulations and great job to all of our athletes who competed in Red Deer. We cannot wait to see more successes at our Championship on March 26 and 27th in Edmonton hosted by CUE/STMU!
