Beginning tomorrow, THURSDAY, MARCH 19, most classes will resume in a remote delivery format through our new D2L platform at your normal class times.
Our students are the heart of the St. Mary’s University community, while we paused classes over the last three days, we have been working hard to transition from face-to face classes to remote delivery. In particular, the IT Team and your faculty have been working together to find the best ways to complete the winter term, to provide content, an opportunity to dialogue, and assess you in ways aligned with our teaching philosophy and the teaching excellence you have come to expect.
Beginning tomorrow, THURSDAY, MARCH 19, most classes will resume in a remote delivery format through our new D2L platform at your normal class times.
Other courses will be completed through assignments that will be communicated by your faculty. We are sticking to your original course outlines as much as possible.
It is important for you to keep accessing your StMU email for on-going instructions. If you do not have regular access to a computer or mobile device, please contact Dr. Hyland-Russell at tara.hyland-russell@stmu.ca
Once we have the new system in place for courses, we will finalise arrangements for final exams.
Most exams will take place at their originally scheduled times through D2L. Details will follow.
For many of your faculty, teaching on-line is a brand new experience. They are embracing the challenge with dedication. There may be some hiccups as we implement a new system, we are confident that we will all learn together with grace and generosity.
Counselling services remains available to students online and by phone.
If you are feeling stressed or anxious and need counselling assistance during work hours (8:30am-4:30pm), text 403-333-4292 and we will set up a time to talk. We can make arrangements for a confidential phone call or online session.
