On Wednesday November 23, BOOK TALK — a Student Association Club will host speaker, author and multi-Guinness World Record holder Martin Parnell at St. Mary’s for a night of discussion and insight.
Parnell will be discussing his amazing feat of running 250 marathons in one year as well as selling copies of his book entitled Running to the Edge for $20 with 25 per cent of the proceeds from sales going towards the Humanities 101 program at St. Mary’s.
Known for his amazing feats and world records, Parnell is steadily making his way back from perhaps his toughest challenge yet. In February of 2015 Parnell was diagnosed with a rare blood clot on his brain that needed immediate treatment. While the road has been long and hard, Parnell’s perseverance highlights how one person can overcome obstacles to achieve their full potential.
Parnell’s inspirational story is an example of how one person can make a significant and impactful change on the world around them.
There will be door prizes to be won and light refreshments on hand. All are welcome so please feel free to bring any guests as the event is free to attend.
