We are pleased to announce that after an extensive and wide-reaching exploration, the Presidential Search Committee will be announcing the next President and Vice-Chancellor of St. Mary’s University on May 30th, 2022.
Applications for the role were received from across Canada and many parts of the world and we are very confident that within the robust and capable pool of applicants, we found our next institutional leader – one with a clear commitment to the mission, vision, and values of St. Mary’s University.
We recognize that many members of our community are interested to learn more about our incoming President and will have an opportunity to do so at our announcement event on May 30th at 12 noon.
The Presidential Search Process is governed by the Policy on University Appointments. A Presidential Selection Committee, comprised of members of the Board of Governors, faculty, staff, students, and alumni will recommend a candidate to the Board of Governors for appointment.
Role of President & Vice-Chancellor
The President & Vice-Chancellor is the administrative head of the University. Their role is defined in the role of the president policy, and elsewhere by the Board of Governor.
