Sacred Art Workshop: Painting the Figure by Copying the Old Masters – Workshop Completed
In this workshop, students will gain hands-on familiarity with the techniques of the great masters of sacred art and their approach to painting the human figure. Working from a copy of an Old Master painting, participants will learn the specific step-by-step process to achieve an exact replica. This exercise helps them gain a clear understanding of the principles of oil painting, the best techniques, and when to use which materials.
Beginning with the drawing stage through to the final glazes, all stages of the painting process will be discussed and practiced. The instructor will demonstrate each of the key steps in the painting process and will assist each student individually as they progress on their copy. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience. Students will be able to choose the painting they wish to copy, based on their level of previous experience.
