November 16, 2015…Calgary- St. Mary’s University student-athlete Chris White-Gloria had a solid performance in a very competitive race at the CCAA National Cross-Country Championships at St. Lawrence College in Brockville, Ontario on Saturday, November 14. He placed 79th in a time of 30:11 ona challenging 8 km course with hills and muddy sections. Chris finished 16th among all ACAC runners in the race, matching his placing at the ACAC Championships.
It was Chris’ 2nd appearance at the National Championships and first opportunity to represent St. Mary’s University at an event outside Alberta.
First year coach Donna Dixon also appreciated the experience of attending the Nationals and connecting with coaches and athletes from around the country: “It is the 2nd year of the ACAC Cross Country program at St. Mary’s and we look forward to continuing to build the team with the goal to qualify full teams for the Nationals in the future.”
The men’s race was won by Rob Asselstine of St. Lawrence College and team medalists were 1st Sherbrooke, 2nd Lethbridge College & 3rd Fanshawe College.
The women’s race was won by Jessy Lacourse of Cégep de Victoriaville and team medalists were 1st College Lionel-Groulx, 2nd UBC Okanagan & 3rd Lethbridge College.
