Please join us to learn about and experience The Saint John’s Bible. Brad Neary, Director of the Heritage Program, will share the history of the original manuscript as well as details of the full-sized printed version, referred to as the Heritage Edition. Neary will have one volume – Gospels and Acts – of the Heritage Edition on display and will share several of the work’s most iconic illuminations.
The Saint John’s Bible is the first-handwritten, illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years. It was commissioned in 1998 by the Benedictine monastery of Saint John’s Abbey and Saint John’s University to ignite the spiritual imagination of people throughout the world and to illuminate the word of God for a new millenium.
