Deanne Barrett

Specialization/Research Interest
Deanne’s master’s degree in educational research and certification as a professional teacher in Alberta since 2004 has allowed her to serve in the Bachelor of Education program at St. Mary’s University since 2019. Deanne started as a Practicum Advisor for the Teacher Leadership Specialized Practicum program where she supported pre-service teacher research on teacher collaboration, peace education, and inclusive education practices, and served as coordinator of the French Specialization Practicum.
As a sessional instructor, Deanne brings her passion for teaching adolescents and her stories from her time teaching high school English in Calgary into the variety of courses she teaches.
