Born and raised in Langley, British Columbia, I’ve had basketball in my blood from a very young age. I started playing at just 5 years old, and was immediately inspired by legends like Kobe Bryant and Paul Pierce. A basketball was practically in my hands from birth, and I’ve been in love with the game ever since.
Some of the proudest moments in my basketball career include being selected to Team Alberta in grade 11, winning the Division 1 City Championship with Notre Dame that same year, and being named a high school All-Star in my senior year. But my most memorable moment was either winning cities or signing my first Letter of Intent (LOI), marking the beginning of my collegiate journey.
The biggest adversity I faced was recovering from a groin sprain/tear just before my summer with Alberta Basketball. With little time to recover and prepare for training camp, I had to find the balance between healing and conditioning. Despite the challenge, I fought through and played a significant role in helping the team finish top 4 in the country.
My love for basketball keeps me pushing forward, and my ultimate goal is to use the sport to earn a degree and further my education. Outside of basketball, I enjoy listening to music, reading, and taking walks—finding balance in my day-to-day life by prioritizing what’s important.
I admire Michael Beasley’s on-court personality, especially his signature line “Do it again.” It motivates me to keep going, to always improve, and to never stop striving for greatness.
As a student-athlete, I believe it’s important to have an identity beyond the sport, especially because younger kids often look up to us as role models. I’ve worked with organizations like the Salvation Army, Jamaican Canadian Alberta Association, and Genesis Basketball to give back to my community and make a positive impact.
My advice to aspiring athletes is simple: Anything is possible with God, faith, hard work, and a killer mindset. And always remember to walk your own path—don’t try to fill someone else’s shoes.
