Riley Follensbee

I’m Riley Follensbee, a passionate basketball player hailing from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where sports have always been a cornerstone of my upbringing. Introduced to basketball in grade 6, I quickly found myself immersed in the game, making it my primary focus by grade 10. Growing up surrounded by friends and family who shared my love for basketball, I spent countless hours honing my skills both on the court and virtually through games like 2k.
To excel in my sport, I maintain a disciplined routine of stretching and mobility exercises 2-3 times a week, complemented by regular shooting sessions. This preparation is crucial for me, ensuring I enter practices and games mentally and physically ready. Whether I’m gearing up for competition or hitting the court for practice, music plays a vital role in my pre-game ritual, setting the tone for peak performance.
Beyond basketball, my interests are diverse. I find joy in golfing, collecting vinyl records, seeking tranquility through fishing, and relishing quality time with friends and family. Riding my motorcycle and delving into a good book also round out my passions, enriching my life outside of athletics.
For young athletes aspiring to follow their dreams, my advice is simple yet powerful: start planning early for life after high school. Embrace the journey ahead with determination and foresight, knowing that each step forward, however daunting, is a crucial part of personal growth and achievement.
