In an Emergency: Call 911
Criminal Reporting:
- Report to the police in an effort to pursue criminal charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Email campus.integrity@stmu.ca to notify St. Mary’s University about the incident.
Non-criminal Reporting:
Primary Contact: campus.integrity@stmu.ca to notify AVP of Enrolment and Student Experience and/or Human Resources personnel
Secondary Contact (if needed): Area Leader/Dean
Anonymous Reporting Options:
- St. Mary’s Safe App; OR
- Enclose a note in a sealed envelope, marked “Confidential”, and address to HR, the AVP of Enrolment and Student Experience, or the President, as appropriate for drop off at the front desk of the Administration Building.
Confidentiality will be maintained at all times and to the fullest extent possible. St. Mary’s University will not disclose the circumstances related to an incident or the names of the complainant, the individual alleged to have committed the violence, and any witnesses, except where necessary.
Anonymous complaints are possible. The ability to address such complaints may be limited if there is not enough information to determine the appropriate next steps. We encouraged individuals to identify themselves when making complaints to ensure that the necessary details are obtained to appropriately address their complaint, but this is not required.
