The 2026 Inspiration Unplugged Lecture Series opened on January 22 with international speaker Heather Khym, welcoming students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider community for an evening of reflection and faith. Heather’s talk, Come and See: Encountering the Real Jesus, invited attendees into a deeper understanding of what it means to know Christ personally.
Heather Khym is the co-host of the widely popular Abiding Together podcast, co-founder of Life Restoration Ministries, and currently serves as the Director of Evangelization at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.
Drawing from her own personal testimony, Heather shared how each of us is called into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. “Jesus was a real person. He was, and He is,” she emphasized, grounding her message in both conviction and lived experiences. Attendees were especially moved by stories of faith, healing, and the impact of encountering Jesus within her own family.
Heather also challenged listeners to reflect on how they understand their spiritual lives. “For many of us, we define our spiritual life by the things we do, or even the things we don’t do,” she shared. “Information is not revelation. You can know a lot of things and still miss the person of Jesus.”
The Inspiration Unplugged Lecture Series continues February 12 with guest speaker George Ferzoco, who will present Dante and Our Divine Comedy, an engaging exploration of faith, literature, and meaning. Community members, students, faculty, and staff are warmly invited to attend. Registration is now open on Eventbrite.
