Policies and Procedures

A policy is a formal, written statement that sets out an organization’s expectations, rules, and guiding principles for how certain situations or activities should be managed. It provides clear direction to employees, supports consistent decision‑making, and helps ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and operational requirements.

At St. Mary’s, we believe that policies are our values written down. All policies are anchored, wherever possible, in documents or statements of authority (e.g., Bylaws, legislation, mission, vision) and the procedures found in the appendix are accountable to the principles section of the policy.
