Cydnee’s academic journey commenced in 2015 when she began the general studies degree program at St. Mary’s. However, it was in 2018 that she embarked on a transformative path, transitioning into the Education program, driven by a longstanding aspiration to fuse her love for music with her desire to work with children.

The hallmark of Cydnee’s tenure at St. Mary’s was the nurturing environment that enveloped her. Despite initial reservations stemming from the university’s Catholic ethos, she found herself embraced by a community characterized by inclusivity and support. The intimate class sizes provided a conducive setting for academic growth, easing the transition from high school and fostering meaningful connections with peers and mentors alike.

Central to Cydnee’s experience was her immersion in the choral community, particularly under the mentorship of Malcolm Edwards. Transitioning from her role as an elementary teacher to a full-time substitute teacher, Cydnee embarked on a new chapter, one anchored in her passion for music. As a member of two adult semi-professional divisions with Youth Singers of Calgary and a burgeoning recording artist, she is carving out a niche for herself in the music industry.

Looking forward, Cydnee envisions a future where music and leadership converge seamlessly. With aspirations to assume a leadership role within a musical organization, her journey epitomizes the transformative power of passion, perseverance, and purpose.
