Celebrating Connections: St. Mary’s University hosts first Alumni Reunion

The St. Mary’s University Alumni Reunion held on July 27th at the Valentine Family Court on the St. Mary’s campus was a resounding success. The event saw an incredible turnout, bringing together alumni from various graduating years as well as St. Mary’s staff and faculty for a day filled with fun, memories, and camaraderie.

Networking opportunities were abundant as alumni mingled, exchanged business cards, and discussed potential collaborations. It was inspiring to see the diverse career paths that St. Mary’s graduates have embarked upon, and the reunion provided a platform for them to explore new possibilities together.

One of the special moments of the day was the appearance of our very first alumnus – John Madole. John graduated in 2004 with a 3-year bachelor’s degree in General Studies and having him in attendance added a historical touch to the event, reminding everyone of the rich legacy and growth of St. Mary’s University over the past 20 years.

The energy of the event was further elevated by the lively game of “bump” – a basketball game that saw enthusiastic participation from alumni of all ages. The court buzzed with excitement as participants showcased their skills, laughter echoed as shots were made, and the spirit of friendly competition brought everyone closer.

Alumni from different eras shared stories of their time at St. Mary’s, reminiscing about their experiences and catching up on where life has taken them since graduation.

Several lucky attendees walked away from the reunion with exciting giveaways. The smiles on the winners’ faces added to the overall joy and celebration of the day.

A special thank you goes out to Hudson’s for their generous provision of beverage services, ensuring everyone stayed refreshed throughout the event. Their support was invaluable in making the reunion enjoyable for all attendees.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated alumni planning committee members: Cordell Minnifee, Kevin Legare, Jack Maleski, Sarah McCaskill, Thomas Wong, and Jaden Baragar. Their hard work and meticulous planning were instrumental in bringing this memorable event to life. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of community and dedication that St. Mary’s University stands for.

The alumni reunion was a testament to the enduring connections formed at St. Mary’s University. As we look forward to future events, we carry with us the joy and unity experienced on this day, strengthening the bond within our alumni network. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this reunion a remarkable success!
