Final Exams with Accommodations
Final exams can feel stressful, so it is important to plan ahead if you want to use your accommodations.
Once the final exam schedule is posted by the Registrar’s office, Accessibility Services will send you a form to register for your Final Exam Accommodations.
- Review your exam dates, times, and locations carefully.
- Decide which exams you want to write at the Testing Centre, with accommodations.
- Make sure your accommodations for the term are active (you have completed the Accommodation Registration Form or contacted the Academic Access Coordinator).
Booking Final Exams
If you plan to write your final exams with accommodations, you do not need to book them. Accessibility Services does that for you! After you complete the Final Exam Registration form, you will be sent your accommodated exam schedule.
Online or take-home exams:
If your final exam is fully online or take-home, you usually do not need to come to the Testing Centre unless indicated otherwise by your instructor or Accessibility Services. If you are unsure how your accommodations apply to an online exam, please email access@stmu.ca.
Conflicts or Disability-Related Changes
You must write your final exam on the same day as the rest of your class. Changes to final exams are not approved for personal travel plans, vacations, or work schedules. Those requests must follow the exam deferral process through the Registrar’s Office. If you have two final exams on the same day, Accessibility Services will email your StMU email to inquire about writing one of your exams on a different day. If you do not confirm and reply to the email, we will assume you do not want to have a conflicting exam changed.
If you are unsure what to do, contact Accessibility Services as early as possible so we can talk through your options.
