My teaching and learning journey began when I completed a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Teaching English as an Additional Language from Concordia University. As a trilingual language teacher, I taught in K-12 schools, overseas in Taiwan and China, as well as in Canada for several years. In 2008, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Buddhism from McGill’s Faculty of Religious Studies before spending almost a decade of teaching English for adult learners in McGill’s School of Continuing Studies. I eventually returned to academia to complete my doctoral studies at McGill’s Faculty of Education in 2022. I am also the Co-Founder and Alberta Director for the Centre for Civic Religious Literacy, a national non-religious non-profit dedicated to promoting religious literacy as a framework to better understand religious, spiritual, and secular individuals and communities.
