The Library provides resources and research assistance for all library users. Whether it is finding a print book for your paper or using electronic resources, the Library also hosts group library workshops you can sign up for and sessions for your entire class.
Participation in library workshops are available on a first-come, first served basis. You can sign up for sessions and check the schedule of sessions below. Just use the StMU ID and password that you use for StMU Webmail and for My.StMU.

Library 101
In this workshop, students will learn about resources the library provides access to, including the difference between a journal, database, reference resource, and scholarly book. The in-person session will also include an interactive scavenger hunt and tour in the library stacks!

Introduction to Online Research
This session will focus on the basics of academic research using StMU’s library database, how to navigating the Library’s website, and search for peer-reviewed articles and scholarly books, and optimize your results using filters and limiters.

Exploring Primary Sources
Have you ever held a 500-year-old book? Come and learn about the books and archives in STMU’s Special Collections Reading Room! This session will allow participants time for hands-on exploration, and tips for incorporating primary sources into research papers.

Advanced Psychology Research
Aimed at psychology majors (but open to everyone!) this session will focus on searching within psychology-specific databases and optimize your searches for advanced research.
