Coach Shoults is going into his 7th season with the Women’s Basketball program here at St. Mary’s. After revamping the program in his first year, the program has seen success. This past season marked the 5 straight season the program reached the ACAC Championships. Along this 5 year journey the team as been in 3 ACAC Gold Medal games – leaving with two silver medals and one gold medal. The team has been to the CCAA National Championships on two occasions – St. Claire in Windsor, Ontario; and Mount Allison in Sackville, New Brunswick.
Other highlights include: multiple 1st and 2nd team all-conference players, CCAA student-athlete awards, ACAC South coach of the year award, playoff MVP and all-star awards, and CCAA championship 2nd team all-star awards.
Coach Shoults has his NCCP Level III certificate and has been working with Alberta Basketball to receive accreditation within the new certification regulations. His overall goal is to attain the Train to Compete certification so one day he is able to become involved with Alberta Basketball as a coach.
